In this paper the authors prove that the only moment-angle complexes \(Z(K;(D^2, S^1))\) which are rationally elliptic are those which are rationally a product of odd spheres. The result was originally proved by \textit{G. Debongnie} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 136, No. 6, 2245--2252 (2008; Zbl 1145.55011)]. Here the authors give a new proof based on a natural detailed study of the topology of finite simplicial complexes.
