The author gives a uniform simple proof for the following assertion. Let \(R\) be an integral domain such that each overring of \(R\) is a pseudovaluation domain (resp., divided domain, going-down domain, locally pseudovaluation domain, locally divided domain). Then \(R/P\) has the same property for each prime ideal \(P\) of \(R\).
