The aim of the paper is to classify finite dimensional irreducible representations of the Yangian of the basic Lie superalgebra of type \(A(m,n)\). It is indicated how the classification can be derived from the results of \textit{R. B. Zhang} [J. Math. Phys. 36, No. 7, 3854--3865 (1995; Zbl 0855.17012)] and [Lett. Math. Phys. 37, No. 4, 419--434 (1996; Zbl 0861.17020)], but also a direct proof is given.
