The paper under review is a self-contained article which gives an introduction to (pseudo-)Finsler geometry based on connections. The paper has six sections. After an introduction in the first section, the author gives a general theory of connections on vector bundles in Sections two and three. Section four is devoted to Finsler geometry and its connections. In Section five the Bianchi identities for the linear and nonlinear connections are given and the curvature and torsion of the linear connections are studied. In the last section (Section six) the author gives a discussion about the question ``What is the best Finsler connection?''.
