These datasets provide initial conditions for the Ecosystem Demography Model (ED2) that were derived from airborne lidar datasets acquired during theAmazon Biomass Estimation Project (EBA2016), described in Grgens et al. (2021). The data used for generating these initial conditions are available in Ometto et al. (2023), and the description of the algorithm, along with the code used for producing the data, can be found in Longo et al. (2020). The file format is described in the ED2 model Wiki page describing multi-site forest structure initial conditions (NL%IED_INIT_MODE=8). You need to download and uncompress all three files to use it with the ED2 model.
