Computational methods for some inverse scattering problems (Q1004223)

The authors discuss a numerical approach to the inverse scattering problem for the Schrödinger equation and the Zakharov-Shabat system on the real line, that is, the reconstruction of the solution from known asymptotic solutions. The problem is split into two problems on the left and right half-lines. Computational techniques based on this approach are developed and illustrated by numerical examples.
