The author briefly recalls some results from the theory of guiding functions as developed by M. A. Krasnosel'skii. In particular, he focuses on the situation when a differential system possesses a complete set of guiding functions. He shows that, in such a case, there is a periodic isolating segment that carries the same information concerning periodic solutions of that system.
