An important problem in functional analysis is how to recognize a complex algebra homomorphism on a complex Banach algebra from its local behavior. The authors discuss the similar problem of how to recognize a complex lattice homomorphism on the complexification \(L_{\mathbb C}\) of a real vector lattice \(L\) from its behavior on a small subset of \(L_{\mathbb C}\).
