The authors work with the notion of \((p,q)\) outer generalized inverse in a Banach algebra, defined by \textit{D. S. Djordjević} and \textit{Y. Wei} [Commun. Algebra 33, No.~9, 3051--3060 (2005; Zbl 1111.15007)]. A new representation and an iterative method for computing the \((p,q)\) outer generalized inverse in a Banach algebra are considered.
