Summary: We derive several interesting formulae for the eigenvalues of the derangement graph and use them to settle affirmatively a conjecture of Ku [\textit{C. Y. Ku} and \textit{T.W.H. Wong}, ``Intersecting families in the alternating group and direct product of symmetric groups'', Electron. J. Comb. 14, No. 1, Res. paper R25 (2007; Zbl 1111.05093)] regarding the least eigenvalue.
