Mario Salvadori and Mauro Picone: from student and teacher to professional fellowship (Q1011810)

This paper has been written on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the birth and of the tenth anniversary of the death of Mario Salvadori. The present paper is devoted to the study of some of the correspondence during the years 1934 and 1972 between Salvadori and Mauro Picone, who was one of his professors and then his Ph.D. adviser at the University of Rome. Interesting historical details about the Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo in Rome are provided in this paper.
