On a difference equation motivated by a heat conduction problem (Q1012946)

The author studies the behaviour of the sequence \(\{\tau_n\}\) recursively defined by \[ \sum_{j=1}^nf\left(\sum_{s=j}^n\tau_s\right) =1,\quad n=1,2,\dots, \] where \(f\) is a continuous and strictly decreasing function on \((0,\infty)\), with \(f(0^+)\geq 1\), \(f(\infty)=0\), and \(\log f\) or \(\log|f'|\) is convex.
