The Cauchy problem for a system of semilinear wave equations with small initial data in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) is dealt with. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a global solution are introduced. Moreover, under some assumptions on the nonlinearities there exist such a small initial data, that the global solutions are not asymptotically free.
