Several aspects of vagueness, as presented in \textit{S. Shapiro}'s book [Vagueness in context. Oxford: Oxford Univ. Press (2006)], are analyzed from the point of view of fuzzy logic. In this paper, the author presents some generalizations of Shapiro's formal apparatus, in particular he studies how it can be applied to fuzzy logic, possibly generalized by interval-valued interpretations. As the final conclusion, the author writes that the role of mathematical fuzzy logic in the study of vagueness should not be underestimated.
