Based on their results on saturated fusion systems [obtained in Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 360, No. 6, 3093-3106 (2008; Zbl 1144.20004)], the authors extend two results of \textit{P. Flavell} [J. Algebra 300, No. 2, 472-479 (2006; Zbl 1112.20019)] to the general framework of general fusion systems. The paper is very technical and definitely not self-contained; the interested reader should definitely have the first indicated reference on the desk.
