The main object of the paper is to construct space arcs by extending planar affine transformation into space. Thus space splines on a hyperbolic paraboloid over a tetrahedron are constructed. Approximate \(G^2\) continuity is studied here for fitting to a sequence of points [cf. \textit{M. Paluszny} and \textit{R. R. Patterson}, Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 15, No.~3, 261--287 (1998; Zbl 0903.68193)].
