In this paper a polynomial invariant of long virtual knots is defined, related to the degree one Vassiliev invariant of virtual knots defined by \textit{A. Henrich} in [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 19, No. 4, 461--487 (2010; Zbl 1178.57008)]. This polynomial invariant vanishes for classical long knots and contains information about chirality and virtual crossing number. Moreover, the invariant is additive under the semigroup addition in the long virtual knot category.
