In the paper under review the author extends the bicharacter construction of quantum vertex algebras proposed by \textit{R. E. Borcherds} [Taniguchi conference on mathematics Nara '98. Papers from the conference, Nara, Japan, December 15--20, 1998. Tokyo: Mathematical Society of Japan. Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 31, 51--74 (2001; Zbl 1018.17018)] to the case of super Hopf algebras. The author also presents a bicharacter construction of the charged free fermions vertex superalgebras.
