Symmetry of Reidemeister torsion on \(SU_2\)-representation spaces of knots (Q1032920)

The paper studies two actions on the space of conjugacy classes of irreducible SU\(_2\)-representations of a knot group. One of these actions is an involution originating from the algebraic structure of SU\(_2\). The other action depends on the outer automorphism group of the knot group. The 1-dimensional smooth part of the representation space is canonically oriented and metrized by the Reidemeister torsion volume form. Using this the author establishes a symmetry property of the Reidemeister torsion function.
