The authors introduce several positional base dimension-like functions of type dim and prove the universality property for them. Earlier in [\textit{D. N. Georgiou, S. D. Iliadis} and \textit{A. C. Megaritis}, Topology Appl. 155, No.~17--18, 2196--2201 (2008; Zbl 1160.54022)] they proved similar results for positional base dimension-like functions of type ind.
