The paper exhibits some new properties of the graphs of closed operators in Hilbert spaces. Representations of von Neumann algebras induced by graphs of closed operators are constructed, and properties of some classes of closed operators (bounded, invertible, Fredholm, etc.), in terms of their characteristic matrices, are presented.
