The authors explore the stochastic ordering properties of residual lives and inactivity times of coherent structures with exchangable components with absolutely continuous distributions, extending some earlier results of \textit{X. Li} and \textit{Z. Zhang} [Appl. Stoch. Models Bus. Ind. 24, No. 6, 541--549 (2008; Zbl 1198.62147)] who considered the case of i.i.d. components.
