The author investigates the stability of the two-dimensional nonautonomous linear system \[ x' = a(t)x + b(t) y, y' = c(t)x + d(t)y. \] By using the method of Lyapunov functions, a series of criteria are established for the system to be stable, asymptotically stable or unstable.
