The note under review records further developments around the notion of multiplicative Dirac structures on Lie groups, as studied by \textit{C. Ortiz} [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 346, No.~21--22, 1279--1282 (2008; Zbl 1163.53052)]. More specifically, one introduces the product of two Dirac manifolds and singles out the class of Dirac morphisms of Poisson type. One of the main results of the paper is that a Dirac structure on a Lie group \(G\) is multiplicative if and only if the multiplication mapping \(G\times G\to G\) is a Dirac morphism of Poisson type. Another result is that there exist nontrivial multiplicative Dirac structures on every simply connected Lie group of dimension at least 2.
