The author studies nonlinear approximation properties of multivariate wavelet bi-frames with isotropic dilation matrices. Besov spaces are shown to be convenient function spaces to consider the best \(N\)-term approximation, and the best \(N\)-term approximation rate can be obtained by thresholding the wavelet bi-frame expansion.
