This is an addendum to a paper published in the same issue of the journal [see ibid. 30, No. 8, 1902-1912 (2009; Zbl 1191.20037)], after the author's death in 2004. It gives a proof of Proposition 2 in that paper (about the order of a product of a pair of generators of a Coxeter group), using only algebraic and combinatorial methods -- that is, without reference to geometric representations.
