The author studies scattering characteristics for three-dimensional plane wave diffraction on oblate objects that can be applied both to electromagnetic and acoustic waves. He treats the related Dirichlet problem with external excitation and construct a representation for the solution. The obtained approximate solution is shown to converge to the exact one while the numerical results illustrate the efficiency of the constructed model.
