In this paper the intrinsic impreciseness of a description of an object in a dialectical context is treated in terms of fuzzy set theory. The concept of synthesis of a multiple description of an object is investigated as an operation in a suitable structure. The authors present some examples of synthesis which are based on global properties of a fuzzy set as entropy and energy. These examples are approached from the lattice and the functional point of view.
