This paper deals with a side-and-end traction loaded elastic cylinder in the presence of all the stress components. The solution obtained in potential stress function terms includes wall beam and uneven torsion problems. With the definition of the boundary problems concerning the potential stress functions and the determination of the constants involved in the problem, a generalization of the well-known Saint-Venant solution is obtainable. The relevant results of an uneven torsion subjected elliptic cross-section cylinder are being dealt with in the last section of the paper.
