The rarified gas flow about a scoop in a rapidly rotating gas centrifuge is studied by using Monte Carlo particle dynamics and a stratified gas flow model. The solution to the problem is obtained numerically. The paper gives a detailed discussion of the various computational difficulties and possible applications of the algorithm.
