This book is the fourth volume of the series ''Integer programming and related areas: A classified bibliography.'' It contains 4751 new publications which appeared in the period from mid 1981 to autumn 1984. As in the previous three volumes [Lect. Notes Econ. Math. Syst. 128 (1976; Zbl 0326.90046), ibid. 160 (1978; Zbl 0377.90067), ibid. 197 (1982; Zbl 0478.90047)], it covers the following topics: theory and methods of general integer programming; combinatorial and graph theoretical optimization problems related to integer programming; applications of integer programming; and consists of the following three parts: Part 1: the full bibliographical data listed in alphabetical order for the first author and chronologically for each author; Part 2: the subject bibliography classified under 50 main subjects, such as branch and bound, cutting planes, duality in integer programming, knapsack, traveling salesman and so on; Part 3: the authors bibliography to retriev an aiming publication as well as by a coauthor's name. Under the flood of publications on integer programming, it is difficult to collect, to survey and to classify all available publications. However, it is felt that this book will become one of the indispensable reference books to researchers interested in this field.
