Śrîpati (fl. A.D. 1039-1056), the most prominent Indian mathematician of his time, is best known for his writings on astronomy, arithmetic, mensuration and algebra. The present paper is a discussion of Śrîpati's arithmetic, the Gaṇitatilaka and of chapters on arithmetic and algebra in his Siddhântaśekhara. The sources upon which Śrîpati drew and a glossary of Indian works and Indian technical terms are also given.
