Arguing by ''asymptotic induction'', we compute the continuous cohomology of any irreducible admissible representation (not necessarily unitary), in the case of a real rank one matrix group. This completes the program in [\textit{A. Borel} and \textit{N. Wallach}, Ann. Math. Stud. 94 (1980; Zbl 0443.22010)]. In the general case, we remark on Zuckerman's approach to the problem, using Vogan's work on the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjectures.
