    A new characteristic of queueing systems is proposed: the conditional distribution of states of the system at an arbitrary nonimbedded time, subject to the condition that a customer arrives at that time. Examples of computations of the distribution function and waiting time in a single-channel exponential system with a finite source are discussed.
