We show how to construct examples of Jordan curves in \({\mathbb{R}}^ 3\) arbitrarily close to a plane which span any given number of geometrically different stable minimally immersed discs. The construction is based on the theory of extensions to the disc of immersions of \(S^ 1\) into \({\mathbb{R}}^ 2\).
