We present our conception of a topological game. We show in part I that the Fréchet distance between curves is realized for certain of their representations; from this we derive the existence of a geodesic in the space of curves. In part 2 we prove the existence of an escape line - the transversal of level sets of functions - of the distance to the simply connected region.
