Steady laminar mixed convection heat transfer is considered for an isothermal horizontal cylinder placed in a forced transverse flow. The study is based upon numerical solution of the complete Navier-Stokes equations. The implemented finite difference method is a combination of the compact Hermitian method \(O(h^ 4)\) for continuity equation and an \(O(h^ 2)\) scheme for transport vorticity and energy equations. Low Reynolds numbers are considered (Re\(\leq 40)\) and the \(Gr/Re^ 2\) parameter is of order unity. Results are presented for a Prandtl number equal to 0.73.
