A finite-difference algorithm for computing the secondary flow field in a gas centrifuge is described. The linearized axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations in primitive variable form are solved by a time-marching technique. We apply an analytical matching condition at the ends which has the same effect on the flow outside the Ekman layers as would the direct application of the hydrodynamic and thermal boundary conditions on a highly refined mesh.
