A geometric description is given for the tangent cone to a Pfaffian quadratic singularity of the theta-divisor of the Prym variety for a given two-sheeted non-ramified covering of non-singular curves. A class of singularities with tangent cone of rank 5 is also considered which are close to Mumford singularities.
