Results on the classification of arbitrary (not necessarily non-singular) projective algebraic varieties over an algebraically closed field k, with \(\Delta\)-genus equal to 1 are announced. These results are natural generalizations of the author's results obtained for non-singular varieties [see J. Math. Soc. Japan 32, 709-725 (1980; Zbl 0474.14017) and 33, 415-434 (1981; Zbl 0474.14018)].
