The present paper is devoted to the question of the stability of plane self-similar flows in expanding regions with respect to weak two- dimensional perturbations. Propagation of perturbations through the gas is described in the approximation of geometrical acoustics. The intensity of the perturbations is characterized by the total energy E of a wave packet, whose behavior as \(t\to \infty\) is chosen as the criterion of stability of the considered flow. It is shown that \(E\to 0\) with the time in problems of a strong explosion and a decelerated piston.
