    A method is proposed for reducing the amount of information required for operation of diffuse situational models used to control complex plants. Some minimum subset of situations that is sufficient for complete plant control is found in the set of reference situations that describe the plant. A constructive procedure for controlling the plant using the reduced set of reference situations is explained and presented.
