For a given linear, shift-invariant single-input single-output multidimensional discrete system, an input sequence is specified such that the system achieves deadbeat behavior, i.e. the system output reaches zero after a minimum number of steps in the space domain and remains zero thereafter. The strategy adopted towards the attainment of the goal is based on z-transform algebraic techniques and not on feedback control.
