Crossed n-fold extensions of groups, n-fold extensions of modules, and higher multipliers (Q1061231)

Let G be a group. In the paper under review a generalization of Schur's notion of ''Darstellungsgruppe'' for G (this is a central extension of G which is minimal in a suitable sense) to higher dimensions is offered by means of a kind of n-fold extensions of G satisfying an appropriate minimal condition. It is then shown that the initial group of such an n- fold extension may be identified with \(H_{n+1}G\).
