Some conditions under which the duality map is a homeomorphism of X onto \(X^*\) and upper-semicontinuous at some dense subset of a given space are derived. Some further properties of the duality map and so-called Lax-Milgram property of bilinear forms are established in connection with the structure of Banach spaces.
