Love waves in a liquid locked layered poroelastic half space (Q1062501)

The equation determining the phase velocity and attenuation in propagation of Love waves in a liquid locked isotropic homogeneous layered poroelastic half space is obtained. Following the procedures adopted by \textit{A. R. Banghar} [Proc. Indian. Acad. Sci., Sect. A, Part III 88, No.2(May), 133-146 (1979; Zbl 0406.76063)] and \textit{H. Deresiewicz} [Bull. Seism. Soc. Am. 51, 51-59 (1961)] approximate values of phase, group velocities and attenuation are evaluated. Also the results of Banghar and Deresiewicz are obtained as particular cases.
