Operations control system for a multiproduct plant (Q1062605)

We consider the problem of operations control for a discrete-type manufacturing process in a multiproduct plant. For each plant division with a given short-term schedule of jobs, we define a ''measure'' of deviation from schedule and propose a system of incentives which encourages the divisions to meet the schedule and to utilize the available resources for performing unscheduled jobs. A hierarchic design of operation control mechanisms is considered.
