The finite extension and inflation of a slightly compressible hyperelastic hollow circular cylinder is considered. A regular perturbation method is presented which, unlike previous perturbation methods, is applicable to materials with a Blatz-Ko strain energy function [\textit{P. J. Blatz} and \textit{W. L. Ko}, Trans. Soc. Rheol. 6, 223 ff. (1962)]. Numerical results are shown graphically for this strain energy function and one of the polynomial type.
