In the previous papers of this series [Part IV, ibid. 44, 125-132 (1984; Zbl 0544.10049)] the author determined almost completely all multiplicative functions g and f for which \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=1}| g(n+K)-f(n)| /n<\infty\) (K\(\in {\mathbb{N}}\), fixed) holds. In the present note the author gets rid of some extra conditions on g and f.
