As a consequence of Euler formula, a number of relations involving various parameters of regular maps on surfaces are obtained. Part of these, are, in fact, a kind of generalization and unification of some results of \textit{A. Kotzig} [Mat.-fyz. Časopis, Slovensk. Akad. Vied 13, 20-31 (1963; Zbl 0134.196)] and \textit{J. Zaks} [Discrete Math. 43, 309-315 (1983; Zbl 0507.05032)].
